Diwali is preceeded by tons of cleaning....and ofcourse the house is filled with wafts of aroma coming from the kitchen.
Cleaning was handled by Mr. Clean(my hubby) himself and I was left with assurance that we would buy every sweet...dont worry.
Well me being me....dint want to give up so easily.
I read almost every food blog and receipe guide and ofcourse each year observing my mum during diwali was also an experience which paid off big time :)
I planned the planner that I am...and wrote n re- planned and adjusted every schedule of mine.
Bought all the raw materials and divided my cooking into different days :)
Started with the most difficult the Karanji or "kanavla" to some people.
My younger sister' moral support n timely help saved the day!
My karanji' were so good I ended up making a whole lot of them...
I have shared some pics.
This was followed by besan ladoo one day, chivda and shankar pali.
I also made some malai barfi on the day of Diwali. My father was very impressed, his little girl had grown up n he was proud of me :)
My husband went ga ga over the whole cooking extravaganza and said he din't know girls of this century could do all this!!!
Need I say more how I felt :)
Its rightly said that the way to husband's heart is through his tongue. :)
