Christmas Dinner

This was to be posted in Dec 2011!
Was inspired by watching all the Nigella Lawson shows and Masterchef Australia.

My penchant to celebrate every festival drove me to make a special Christmas dinner for Anand n myself.

I made Rotiserrie grilled chicken in Teriyaki sause, cheese garlic bread, chicken lasagne, saute veggies and some fries(potatoes).

Desert was store bought chocolate pastries and fresh strawberries :)

I loved the Teriyaki chicken from Subway so was excited when I saw how easy it was to make the teriyaki sauce at home. I decided to make my chicken in teriyaki sauce.

I made the grilled, roasted chicken with a stuffing of mince chicken, onions, breadcrumbs and Italian herbs.
Am adding all the pictures but no receipes.... ofcourse will share them if anybody wants them, have got them all written down, have to type them down! Just send me a mail.

I started off by making a trip to Star Bazaar and got a large bird(chicken) almost as big as a turkey!
Read and re read many recipes, as I was new to using the oven and no one in my family bakes so had to keep researching on the net to get the perfect recipe and tips on roasting a whole chicken at home!

This large chicken was a bit creepy to handle...but finally got the hang of it and got it on the rottiserie

 The home made teriyaki sause

The pasta dough, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the pasta sheets were to make and it tasted really delicious in the lasange.

 The chicken in the rottiserie...

I sprinkled some thyme, oregano and some olive oil on the cheese, the aroma in my kitchen was simply amazing.

The final assembled lasange :) inspired by Pop Tates our friendly neighborhood eatery!
Store bought pastries

The star of the night! My very first attempt at roasting an entire chicken at home. My husband could not believe I had made all this at home!!!
Loads of brownie points earned  :)
