I have been craving chocolate since a few days....I wanted something fudgy...something with a hint of bitter yet rich... now that I have started baking....I wanted to make something myself....browsing here & there came across a chocolate pie from Joy of Baking & I was set a chocolate pie it was going to be...& nothing else....
I loved the way they had decorated the pie with swirls of whipped cream so decided to do something similar but wanted more....
So a day prior I made a batch of chocolate hearts & roses all with a combination of white & dark chocolate! I got all enthusiastic & dipped some roasted almonds in some liquid chocolate & chilled them overnight. Also the chocolate hearts had roasted hazelnuts in them.
The chocolate filling for the pie was really a chocolate pudding & I was so looking forward to having some with vanilla ice cream!
I made the dough for the short crust pastry & somehow burnt it!!!!
Made another one more carefully & then we were all set to assemble....
This & my pineapple upside down cake were one of the challenging things I have baked not only in terms of techique but also in terms of the number of elements to each dish! Don't I sound like one of the contestants rather judges of Master Chef Australia!
