Navratri and Saraswati Pooja

We would have an eloborate Saraswati pooja as kids.... Keeping all our books, pencils, pencils even my geometry box in front of god for her to bless it... All pooja' at home were followed by payasam and sundal"s" (sweet n salty) We had a nice, satisfying pooja at home.

Krishna Jayanti - Gokulashtami 1st Sept - 2nd Sept 2010

Performed Lord Krishna arrival pooja at midnight at our home..... we decorated the unjal/ cradle/ jhoola, drew foot prints of a baby entering our home, kept some warm bath water, new clean clothes, milk, sugar, honey & flowers & tulsi for Bal Krishna.... Dressed him in the finest clothes...rocked the cradle gently & put our dear lord to sleep, wishing him gudnite & kept the night lamp on the pooja room :)

Orangettes

I love all things citrus, their magnetic aroma is something which can really lift & brighten up my day. I can have one wiff of the lemony zingy aroma & I am all up & cheerful. I have recently made a lot of blogger friends & its lovely to see them come up with so many things from locally available things. Recently one of my friends made this lovely marmalade with Malta ornages. I love marmalades rind & all & the possibility of making them at home caught my fancy! Sharing pics of some orangettes I had made all inspired by the new chocolate orange flavor released by cadbury some years ago. What I did - Peeled the orange, removed the white pith carefully. Cut the rind length wise, simmered in sugar syrup. Keep each one to dry. I could chew on a few just like that too! To take it to the next level dipped them in melted dark chocolate ✨
